The flu and a cold are both viruses, but they have different symptoms. The flu can cause fever, stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting. A cold usually just causes a runny nose and sore throat along with the other typical symptoms of sneezing, coughing, and general weakness. There is no real way to tell which you have without consulting your doctor. If you feel like you could be coming down with something that’s not the common cold then it might be worth going in for an exam so that he or she can figure out what exactly is wrong before it gets worse. It also helps them know how to treat whatever it is as quickly as possible!
